KAMMI Ring with Five Knot Elements
The ornament’s image of the continuous weaving had different meanings: for the North-Western Karelians, it symbolizes the “leaves of love”, for Segozero Karelians – “the picture of an icon”; among the Karelians of the Upper Volga region, the variations of the similar motifs denoted kinship and the connection between generations, heritage.
