Weekend everyday: Autumn Books
Autumn is a time to recognize your inner world and take a big pause. In the autumn it is so pleasing to walk in the park and enjoy the company of yourself. Ask questions and try to answer them. We can't always find the answers immediately, but we have the time for this and, for instance, books.
As @tania_berries says: «Books are always good companions, they inspire us. Between the lines, we find the long-awaited answers. What could be better than assembling a new bookshelf in autumn and read in the park, or before going to bed to the sound of rain? I suggest you do it with me! A selection for every mood, as changeable as the autumn and along with it so are we».
RELAX AND RELIEVE STRESS
Often we just don't have enough colors and fantasy, so a book like "Enchanted Forest» by Johanna Basford with the unusual prints for coloring - a perfect solution. Feel like a kid, paint and get distracted! And the finished cards can be sent to friends or a loved one.
A TIMLESS CLASSIC
I do not know about you, but every autumn I want to dream and picture the times when women wore beautiful dresses, traveled on horseback, wrote letters, and conversations with men sounded so mysterious. I love the classics for a certain syllable and a sense of time, for subjects, which are now rarely talked about over a cup of tea.
GO ON A TRIP
Sometimes you just want to feel the spirit of adventure once again, drop everything and fly to the edge of the Earth. Move to magical unknown worlds? It's easy to do with:
«The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy» by Arthur Philip Dent
«The Chronicles of Narnia» by C.S. Lewis
TO KNOW WISDOM, FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE OF THE EAST
Autumn is a time shrouded in mystery. And there is no greater mystery to me than the East. Therefore, once a year there is a book on my bookshelf that tells me about this place.
«The Kite Runner» or «And the mountains echoed» by Khaled Hosseini
«Ali and Nino» by Kurban Said
SIMPLE MAGICAL THINGS
Each of us has a lot of questions. Usually searching for the answers is similar to wandering through a maze. But sometimes you can just run through the lines of the book, fall between them and find the treasured fleeting thought - a key.
«The Art of Hearing Heartbeats» by Jan-Philipp Sender
«The Dharma Bums» by Jack Kerouac
«Extremely loud & Incredibly close» by Jonathan Safran Foer
«The catcher in the rye» by J. D. Salinger
«Let the Great World Spin» by Colum McCann
THE WORLD IS A LIFELONG LEARNING, EVEN IF YOU GRADUATE
In the autumn when vacations end, we are beginning to get back to the working pace of life. Sometimes it is very difficult, you want to be inspired and learn something new to keep moving! These books pushed me to action once, and I hope they will help you too:
«The fountainhead» by Ayn Rand
«Pour your heart into it: how Starbucks built a company one cup at a time» by Howard Schultz
